Dr. Jacqueline Zweig

Founder and Principal Researcher

Jackie brings over a decade of experience leading applied research and evaluation studies in partnership with education leaders from state education agencies, districts, and digital learning programs. She is passionate about improving educational opportunities for students with a focus on digital learning. She has also conducted research on educator preparation and professional development. Drawing on her deep expertise in quantitative methods and educational improvement, she believes that research can help education leaders make evidence-based decisions about the design and implementation of programs, practices, and products.

As a Senior Research Scientist at Education Development Center (EDC), Jackie conducted research focused on online learning and teacher professional learning. She has managed federal and state contracts to increase the use of research and data in decision-making. Prior to EDC, she was the Director of the Office of Talent Research & Data at the New York City Department of Education.

Jackie holds a BA in Economics from Colby College and a PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California.

Deputy Director of REL Northeast & Islands at EDC, a $26 million Institute of Education Sciences (IES) contract to conduct applied research and trainings with a mission of supporting a more evidence-based education system.

Principal Investigator of an IES-funded randomized controlled trial that examined the impact of an orientation on online course completion rates.

Researcher for the Virtual Education Research Alliance executing a research agenda with online learning programs focused on student engagement in online courses and online teacher training.
